Haiti, the Sacred Space
I believe Haiti, or more specifically Ayiti, should be our capital, our symbol of resistance. I say this not because it is going through hardship presently, but because of the accomplishments that it had done in the midst of great adversity. 

It is presently the most challenged country in the western hemisphere, but is the strongest when it comes to resistance and resilience. This is because of the embargos put up against it for actually defying the racial reasons (of the time, and perhaps now) of why peoples of African descent (Afro: Latino, Native American, Asian, Mixed) should not be allowed to govern themselves (first with semi-feudalism/slavery, and presently with economics/consumerism). 

For that reason, Haiti, for all peoples, should be considered a Spiritual and Sacred Space. It is the Land that we should contribute to because it has paid the cost for fighting injustice, and it's affliction is due to the continual events in it's history (which is Ourstory) that caused its ultimate liberation and brief economic sovereignty up until its 'protected territory' status (technically still sovereign). Haiti has endured. 

I must also note that while the African Continent is the Cradle and Mother of all (which everyone should love and revere), Haiti is her child and general in handling the business of fighting colonialism militarily in the Western Hemisphere. This is why Haiti is such a special place. It reminds us of victory in the midst of blatant physical and mental chains. 

Haiti is potentially a Great Land and a POWERHOUSE - existing on a faultline, resisting oppression both domestic and foreign, and still producing powerful individuals throughout the world. With these truths, we should:

1) have a set apart Day of Visitation for the Island

2) set up, as according to Haitian desires and wishes, structures dedicated to the Ancestors and our desire for Peace and Self-Determination. 

Haiti - From being Wealthy to Systemic Poverty
As mentioned earlier, Haiti once enjoyed a brief economic prosperity that led the early Caribbean. Haiti was the richest colony and commonwealth in what is called the Western Hemisphere during it's early days as a colony. It lost its economic power for several reasons:

1) Boycotting of nations that considered an independent African/Native American Descended Nation would pose a threat to nations that still used slaves as a means for labor and profit.

2) Haitian leaders spent outrageous amounts of money towards the country of France to be recognized as a nation.

3) Later on, in Haiti's need for capital, the U.S. came in and rewrote the constitution as a side effect of a financial indebtedness. They also made changes in Haiti's way of life, which suited U.S. (and later, foreign) economic interests. 

The above reasons are not the sum total of why Haiti became the way it is presently. For example, political instability, was also brought about by the military and landlord (feudal lords) classes as well.

The foreign policy of other countries has historically reinforced turmoil on Haiti's soil by backing the group or force that would bow to their political interests, and the promoting of foreign businesses to foster maximum profit by manipulating a next-to-free labor force.

Haiti Expanded the United States
Many well minded people had worked hard to make foreign enterprises more accountable to the morally defunct acts they commit. The people of Haiti is included in this work.

Deozi believes that more accountability should be put on First World Powers in relation to Caribbean Nations, Haiti in particular. Haiti should not be supported by any foreign country, corporation, or organization, as a charity group, but should be supported in the same way in how these corporate bodies economically empower their allies in other parts of the world.

For example, Haiti caused the United States to expand its territories, helped in its wars, became a strategic military location, gave of it's natural resources, and help foster more than profitable business endeavors. This should be enough reason to raise Haiti to be a power in the Caribbean; anything less would be the game of parasites.

Haiti is the Sacred Space for all Well Minded Peoples 
As far as Deozi is concerned, Haiti is hollowed ground for well minded individuals. It should be honored as how reasonable people view the African Continent as the Cradle of all Humanity. Haiti should be a paramount concern for all because, on that land, the ingredients for a successful campaign against gargantuan oppresson, was accomplished. Deozi believes that because of this same campaign, Haiti has been suffering up until this day.

Haiti's military success is not its only contribution to the fight against oppression:
1) supplied men to fight in the Civil War of the United States

2) helped in the expanding of U.S. lands by forcing Napoleon to sell French occupied land: called the Lousiana Purchase

3) becoming one of the earliest models of Economic Sovereignty in the so-called New World

4) helped in being a model of resistance for Latin American countries

5) and producing the earliest Social Scientist, Antenor Firmin, to combat the stench of race and racial superiority.

It should be the mandate of well minded people to revitalize Haiti with as much monies, financial literacy, technologies, political leverage, education, health programs, management, innovation, and whatever it needs for competency, dignity, and to be competitive among the nations of the world.
