CARIBBEAN ORIGINAL MAN: DEMINAN CARACARACOL 01/27/2012

Picture
DEMINAN CARACARACOL is one of the original mythological founding fathers of the Indigenous Peoples of the Caribbean. It is said that He, alongside His Brothers, were a product of a cesarean of a dying ancient Earth Mother. They were brought into existence by the aid of the Ancient Peoples of that day.

His body was also unusual and coarse in skin texture. He also had ability to influence others. Through several of His adventures, He was able to bring about abundant life accidentally, and also produce a child, by the power of the Zemi (god) called Bayamanaco (all of this took place because of Deminan's hunger and His wanting to prepare Cassava).

The abundant life was the endless fish life of the Caribbean Sea; a sea which He inadvertently let loose into the world and caused the islands of the Caribbean to form. His child, whose symbol was the turtle, became the Polyandrous Wife of Deminan and His Brothers and they peopled the Caribbean Islands.

The lessons we learn from Deminan is that great power has both costs and benefits. How we operate with nature will determine how we fare within the world with ourselves and other life forms. Responsibility and accountability is important in regards to Our Mother, the planet. DEOZI! For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com!

AKAN MOTHER OF JUSTICE: NANA AKONNEDI ABENA 01/15/2012

Picture
NANA AKONNEDI ABENA is the mighty Abosom of Akan/Ashanti spirituality, that is the Mother of all the Abosom (Children of Nyame). Her Bosomfie (Shrine) is located in Larteh Kubease in Modern Day Ghana

Her power is to establish wise justice among the people; particularly in highly complex or sophisticated disagreements relating to government, real estate, family matters, personal property, and other serious concerns. She is the one to make sure the rewards of equity exist in the minds and consciousness of those that recognize Her.

When comparing Akonnedi to the Orisha of Yoruba, Oshosi is the High Being that is similar to Her, in meting out justice. It's my view, however, that Ma'at of the Neteru of Ancient Egypt is a closer similarity in that she is both a promoter of Justice and a feminine principle. Both of them promote balance.

We are looking for justice within ourselves and justice for Indigenous Peoples across the entire planet: autonomy, wealth, and interdependence! DEOZI! For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com!

THE MIGHTY ORISA: ORUNMILA 01/13/2012

Picture
ORUNMILA, a High Being of the Indigenous Peoples called Yoruba, is what many people would consider the Word of the Creator (Oludamare). He is considered second in command to Oludamare, and helped at the beginning of the creation of all things upon the planet. He also incarnated on our Mother, the planet, on several occasions to teach the people. He is an expert at prophecy and determining destiny.

As Kwaku Anansi of the Akan, and Tehuti of the Ancient Egyptians, were personifications of Supreme Wisdom, so is Orunmila. He is the carrier of Oludumare's knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and science, which is contained in Ifá a. This special information is carried to His priests called Babalawo (male) and Iyanlafa (female).

In this day and time, we call upon a higher degree of consciousness and awareness to help Indigenous People across the planet. We call upon the Power of Orunmila to bless us with a new dimension of growth so that we may in fact control our destiny and become rulers-over-self once more! DEOZI! THE MIGHTY LWA: ZAMBA BOUKMAN 12/30/2011

Picture
ZAMBA BOUKMAN is a powerful Lwa (Loa) or Guardian Being within the Sacred High Beings of Vodoun. He was given this sacred title after His contribution to the early resistance to colonial enslavement and kidnapping of Indigenous People.

He was initially from the island of Xaymaka (Jamaica) and then was transported over to the island of Ayiti (Hispaniola). His last name is an indicator that He was a man of learning and wisdom since those around Him called Him Boukman, which derives from the English phrase book man or man of books.

Not only a powerful and fierce warrior, but a priest, He led a sacred prayer to the High Being Ogun (who I call the Highest Principle of War). He invoked Ogun to separate the oppressed from the god of the enemy and give those same people victory over them.

This wonderful Indigenous person had unwavering courage in the face of insurmountable odds, and gave His life in the struggle to overcome the adversaries. DEOZI now invokes Ogun and His Avatar Zamba, to help us to continue the fight for freedom, and keep our enemies from harming our babies. So be it. For Artwork Services, contact me at deozi@deozi.com

SUPREME AFRICAN MOTHERS: NANA ESI KETEWAA 12/29/2011

Picture
NANA ESI KETEWAA is an Abosom, a High Being of veneration and respect in the Ancestors of the Akan Peoples. She is a Fertility Being and protector of women during their pregnancy cycle and giving birth. Her roots are originally from the Akapuem region of modern day Ghana.

Yemoja of the Orisha (Yoruba People), and Mut of the Neteru (Ancient Egypt/KMT), are seen to have heavily commonality with Her since they are also High Beings of Motherhood. This shows that the principle of Motherhood is a very important element throughout the Throne of All Continents: Africa.

When we think of birth, we should always think of powerful principles that represent the protection and caring of our young as they exit their Indigenous mother, to join the rest of us on top of Our Most Ancient Mother, the Living Planet. It is definitely a good affirmation practice to invoke our past mothers, in essence and knowledge, to guide us in our procreation practices today, and for the future!  For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com!

FOREIGN POLICY: THE GREATEST STICK UP GAME OF THE CENTURIES 08/16/2011

Picture
Foreign Policy, in the context of subduing other nations, has been the greatest threat to the common people throughout history. It can fall under the banner of imperialism, as well as today's terms of helping or policing the world.

Historically powerful nations, both past and present, have all played a part in doing this. There are two reasons (that sometimes work together) why nations do this: 1) to protect their boundaries through war and/or divide and conquer methods, and 2) to gain or maintain advantage by taking the resources of the other nation.

The problem with the above is that the greed of leadership, government or otherwise, never have/had the best interests of common people in mind, so common people always suffer. I did this piece to reflect the imbalances of power and how nations wielding said power, within the world, harm lives needlessly. DEOZI! For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com

SHOULD A FATHER HAVE SUPERHERO STATUS? 08/07/2011
7 Comments

Picture
The answer is yes and no. While a crime fighter in the comics, on television shows, as well as movies, do a service for humanity, we don't see many fighting on behalf of the family. From the vigilante with no powers, to the extrordinary being wielding a great amount of power, most are NOT FAMILY ORIENTED! In the real world, they would be as useless as a deadbeat daddy. So a father is NOT a superhero in this sense.

Fantasy makes us imagine that a superhero is one with the ability to perform feats that only exist (presently) within the mind. However, a father that takes care of his family, spiritually, economically, lovingly, etc., has more power than anyone can imagine. Why? He has the power to not only support life, but maintain a qualitative existence for his mate (s) and the children he loves (biological or otherwise).

A responsible and prioritizing father has the power to destroy, or keep at bay, dysfunctionality. Dysfunction is the demon that many of us struggle with the most. In this sense, a father is indeed the hero of the household, and by extension, the community, and the nation. DEOZI! For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com

CARRIBEAN FERTILITY MOTHER: ATABEY (ATABEIRA) 08/01/2011

Picture
The powerful Zemi (god) of fertility and water is Atabey. Atabey is the Ancient Native American equivalent to the Virgin Mary (Miriam). As Mary is said gives birth to a Son  named Jesus (Yehoshua/Yashua/Iesoos) while a virgin, Atabey, a more ancient Mother, also had a virgin birth by producing Her Son Yucahu (the root of the Yuca, which is Cassava). This also means that Atabey is equivalent to Aset (Isis) of Ancient Nubia and Egypt , and Neith (Anat/Tanit) of Ancient Egypt, Canaan, and Carthage. So Atabey, is the Mother of the Supreme Being, as according to Yamaye doctrine (Yamaye is the name of the Indigenous People of Jamaica, who now exist as Maroon descendants).

This Zemi is a powerful protection when it comes to childbirth. Atabey was invoked in order to prevent the mother and child from the dangers of delivery. Her image is always seen within the delivery position (which is associated with both African and Native American peoples). She is also associated with pure waters and is represented by the symbol of the Caribbean Frog.

My art depiction shows Atabey in the same position of childbirth. I have not personally seen any artistic rendering (aside from the original petroglyph) of this Mighty Zemi of Life, so I decided to make one. Another reason is that, many of us are not only children of Africa, but also of the Native American. Deozi is also the seed of the Guyanese Arawaks, and the Yamaye that were mixed in with the Ashanti, the Fon, the Congo, and Moors, on the Island of Xaymaka (now called Jamaica) during wars against the Colonialists. WHO SAID THAT LITTLE PEOPLE WEREN'T GREAT? 07/22/2011

Picture
We have heard of the diminutive Bes, the Neter (god) of Childbirth blessings. A very small being that is endowed with powers. He was glorified by the Nubian Egyptians. The recognition of small beings foundational divinity is, however, not only localized to the Ancients of the Hapi/Nile River Valley. They were also recognized among the Akan Nations. These Beings were a part of the Powerful Abosom, a collection of empowered nature elementals that dictate the affairs of the planet, as well as people.

The names of these Abosom are MMOATIA/MMOETIA (depending on the text). They are said to dwell in the African Rainforests and are said to represent three different colors according to some sources. These colors are red, white, and black, with two of the former being volatile and powerfully aggresive, and the latter passive, yet still powerful. There are also said to be able to turn their feet backwards (similar to the famed being of the forest Sasabonsam), and are extrordinarily knowledgeable skilled in medicinal herbs.

Now with that being said, we must keep in mind the Twa people, those that are derogatorily called Pygmies. In many sources, the Twa are the Original Peoples of the Planet. They are held that way by anthropological sources, as well as those of secret fraternal orders. It would not be a far cry that the MMOATIA originate from the Twa since the Akan had many dealings with their community and the Twa originally inhabited the Forest. If this is the case, the Twa are not only the Original Abosom, but to use English terms, are the ORIGINAL 'GODS' OF THE ENTIRE WORLD! DEOZI! For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com
