AKAN MOTHER OF JUSTICE: NANA AKONNEDI ABENA

Picture
NANA AKONNEDI ABENA is the mighty Abosom of Akan/Ashanti spirituality, that is the Mother of all the Abosom (Children of Nyame). Her Bosomfie (Shrine) is located in Larteh Kubease in Modern Day Ghana

Her power is to establish wise justice among the people; particularly in highly complex or sophisticated disagreements relating to government, real estate, family matters, personal property, and other serious concerns. She is the one to make sure the rewards of equity exist in the minds and consciousness of those that recognize Her.

When comparing Akonnedi to the Orisha of Yoruba, Oshosi is the High Being that is similar to Her, in meting out justice. It's my view, however, that Ma'at of the Neteru of Ancient Egypt is a closer similarity in that she is both a promoter of Justice and a feminine principle. Both of them promote balance.

We are looking for justice within ourselves and justice for Indigenous Peoples across the entire planet: autonomy, wealth, and interdependence! DEOZI! For Artwork Services, Contact deozi@deozi.com!

I have been a member of the Nana Okonnedi Shrine from the days of Nana Okomfohene Oparabea. Blessings to her. She was much loved by us. Her and her Elders and priest stayed in my house when they came to vivit in Philadelphia. Where she did some amazing work for many people.
I was responcible for the whole African dance group from Philadelphia Pa. Then called "Ile Ife" and The "Auther Hall Dance Essemble". After my initiation they followed me to Aburu and the Akwapem people of "Larteh". I had found out about her in Qweens New York by one of her made Priest on East Coast, "Gus Dinizulu" He opened the first "Obosum" in that area of the world.
My sister had been there for years and I did not know until I got there in 1975. She had been made the Qween Mother of Nana Akonnedi Shrine. And had brought back to Ghana one of the oldest Diety called "Densu Yaw". All came out from there homes to celebrate this accassion. I would love to stay in cotact with who is now charge and keep alive this great institution of Psyhic and Herbal-Healing Association.Mi pa wen'sen. Bye-bye O.

I believe the same "Gus Dinizulu" being spoken about is also known as Nana Yao Opare Dinizulu I.

I do not believe the family of Nana Payin would appreciate this characterization. Proper protocol is very important in Akan culture. Was permittion asked? And from whom was it granted? SHYEOOOO! Obosom nye onipa! NANA ASI TABOOS LEGG CROSSING AND IS NEVER DEPICTED NOR PETITIONED DURING PREGNANCY!
